Looking back at 2019

So, its been pretty silent here the last few months, I apologise! I will try and explain whats been happening in my head but the simple reason for no posts is I haven’t felt like it! But as 2019 is coming to an end FAST, I thought I should take a look back at a post from a year ago with my aims of 2019 and see how I have done on each aim I talked about…

🌟Get fit! IVF and pregnancy have been hard on my body and since giving birth I’ve given it a break, but now it’s time to be kind to myself and get myself in a shape other than a spacehopper 😂  infact most days people could still think I am pregnant… and the thought of someone asking me that with my infertility issues terrifies me! So time to get sorted. I would say back in shape but I’ve never actually been in any good shape! Logan will be running around before I know it and right now I don’t stand a chance of keeping up! I have treated myself to Chloe Madeley’s (or should I say Chloe Haskell now…!) new book the fat loss blitz and will be following the sedentary plan. She’s absolutely amazing and really inspires me, check her out on Instagram @madeleychloe ! She’s definitely worth a follow. I will be sharing my weight loss journey on Instagram, on a separate page in the new year so will share more when I’ve set it up! I’ve also signed up to RED January to be active every day in January! Can’t wait to push myself from day 1!

✅ You know what? I’m saying I have achieved this! I tried couch to 5k twice and failed but plan to achieve it in 2020… and I followed Chloe Madeleys plan for a while and lost some weight and inches before stopping. I also completed RED 2019, not by running but by walking and being active every day. In 2019, I lost 21lb of weight, and 42.5cm from my entire body, 13.5cm of that being from my waist!

🌟 Declutter! My home is a cluttered untidy mess and it needs some serious love! So I will be getting my house straight and hopefully this will help me mentally and physically too!

✅ Again, I am counting this one as achieved! I still have a seriously long way to go to get my home fully straight but I have made some massive improvements this year, finally letting go of stuff I have been hoarding for no reason other than attaching sentimental emotions to things that didn’t deserve that kind of attachment. I have watched Marie Kondo and have her book and am very keen to keep following her ideas of if something doesn’t spark joy, then it doesn’t have a place in our home. Definitely proud of what I have been achieving this year, me and my label maker will be going far!

🌟 Look after myself! Becoming a mum is not easy and you definitely can lose part of you. Now Logan is getting bigger, and has a good bedtime routine, evenings are me time. So time for some relaxation, chill out baths, reading, cross stitch, tv viewing and just generally getting back into my hobbies… and doing more blog posts!

❓ I don’t think I have fully hit this one. I do have evenings still as we are insanely lucky that Logan loves going off to bed and sleeping. But I’m finding my phone obsession is out of control and my free time is taken up with procrastinating and pointless scrolling. But I will be working on this in 2020! I do cross stitch every evening, as I am a model stitcher for cross stitch magazines so have to keep up to meet their deadlines! And I do watch some TV whilst stitching. But I definitely need to do more relaxing and properly watch some TV series and have some long baths…. maybe 2020 I will fully crack it! More blog posts is definitely on the plan!

🌟 Get things done! I have a terrible habit of saying I need to do something but then I never do it… even silly things, like changing batteries in something – so lazy! I’m getting into the idea of lists so have bought a sloth notebook (pretty sure a sloth is my spirit animal 😂) and will create a series of lists to get completed. And if something simple needs doing, like changing batteries in something, it’s to be done there and then! Unless there’s no batteries… then it’s a list job 😂

❓ I have been doing lists and making notes and plans in my sloth notebook – its one of my best friends! My memory is terrible so for Christmas hubby bought me a list book to also keep in my handbag so I can jot down things I need to do when I think of them out and about too! I have crossed off some jobs this year, but also added a ton more. 2020 I am determined to get the bathroom done (its been on the cards for 6 years, enough really is enough!)

Did everyone else achieve their aims and goals for 2019?
